Vampire Diaries Season 6 Premiere WON'T Feature Damon and Bonnie?!

We’ve been waiting all summer hiatus to see Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) back on The Vampire Diaries — if only to reassure ourselves that, though they may have seemingly been sucked into oblivion in the Season 5 finale, they are still on this show. But what’s this we hear about a lack of Bamon in the Season 6 premiere?! Is there a chance they won’t be in the season-opener at all?

From the sound of the hints Zap2it is dropping, Bamon really might not be in this ep. Check out the site’s tease: “The influence of the twosome — who were left behind when the Other Side fell — is felt throughout the entire episode. While they might not necessarily be physically present, their legacy will still affect day-to-day life in Mystic Falls.”

We’re certainly hope their lack of physical presence means they’re not physically on the same plane as the other characters — not that they’re physically absent from the episode altogether. We know it will be a good, long while before Bamon is back for reals, but work with us here, show.

We’re inclined to believe that this is just an awkward turn of phrase rather than evidence Bamon won’t be appearing in the season-opener. Sure, they might not be headlining the new episode, but they are both still series regulars. And it is hard to believe TVD won’t give us at least a snippet of their current reality — even if it is just a tease at the very end of the ep. We need to see these two alive and well in some sense of those words!
